What is carved

A human-shaped stone statue was set horizontally into a wall between Structures B and D. It was announced as a first of its kind at Göbekli Tepe.

Speculation

The Minister of Culture and Tourism described its horizontal placement in the wall as a votive offering; this remains a reported interpretation pending detailed publication.
